CV Research Clinic I am a postdoctoral fellow with Penn State's Child Maltreatment Solutions Network . My research focuses on language acquisition and the risk for developmental language disorders when children are exposed to adversity and maltreatment. My previous training focused on diagnostic decision-making and specific language impairment across the lifespan from toddlerhood through adulthood. Now, I address this research intersection through an interdisciplinary, biopsychosocial, and genetically-informed framework to investigate how: 1) individuals with developmental language disorders are at heightened risk for adversity and maltreatment exposure, and 2) individuals exposed to adversity and maltreatment are at heightened risk for developmental language disorders.
